Anna Mae (Kennedy) Ouellette, a longtime resident of Falmouth, died on November 25 after a long illness from complications of Alzheimer’s disease. She was 89 years old.
She was the widow of Albert C. Ouellette.
Born in Half Day, Illinois, she was the daughter of Kathryn (Amann) Kennedy and Joseph Kennedy.
She grew up on a dairy farm during the Great Depression, and graduated from Libertyville High School in Libertyville, Illinois.
After graduation, she attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, concentrating in fashion design and learning couture. She modeled many of her completed designs.
She had to interrupt her education after both of her parents died, to help raise her youngest brother, Delbert Kennedy.

After the war, she met and later married Albert Ouellette, who was a chief warrant officer in the US Navy stationed at Great Lakes.
The couple bought a house in Libertyville neighboring the dairy farm where she had grown up.
After the birth of their fifth child, they moved to Falmouth in 1964.
Mrs. Ouellette owned Ann’s Alterations while raising her family. At this time she worked with her cousin, who was a breast cancer survivor, on a new line of prosthetic swimsuit designs for Cole of California.
She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church.
She loved to travel and was an avid reader who also enjoyed Big Band era and Country Western music.
Mrs. Ouellette also was a Celtics fan.
