Grace S. (Vivian) Hunt of Abington, 97, who leaves family in Sandwich, died on September 25.
She was the wife of the late Herbert L. Hunt.
Born in Dedham, she was the only child of Edward G. and Minnie M. (Bartis) Vivian.
She married Mr. Hunt on June 14, 1932, and they moved to Marshfield.
A Rockland resident from 1947 to 1967, she was very active in Trinity Episcopal Church and worshiped every Sunday.
For more than 15 years she worked at Dyna-Craft in West Hanover as bookkeeper-secretary and for five years in the North Marshfield Post Office.
On returning to Marshfield, Mrs. Hunt was for a number of years treasurer of the Steeple School at Trinity Episcopal Church in North Marshfield. She and her husband returned to Rockland in 1990. Mr. Hunt died in November 1991.
For the past 17 years she lived with her son, John E. Hunt, and his wife, Jeanne M. Hunt, in Abington. Because she was also legally blind for the last 17 years, talking books supplied by the Perkins Braille and Talking Book Library were a source of joy for her.
She enjoyed sewing, animals, visiting Nova Scotia, and the Boston Red Sox.
In addition to her son and his wife, she leaves her daughter, Vivian A. Gosnell of Sandwich; and two grandchildren, Jill M. Hunt Paige and John E. Hunt II of Abington.
A visiting hour in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street, Rockland, will be held tomorrow morning at 9:30, followed by a celebration of her life.
Burial will follow in Plainville Cemetery on Route 139 in Marshfield.
Donations may be made to the Jimmy Fund, c/o Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney St., Boston, MA 02445; or the Perkins Braille and Talking Book Library, 175 N. Beacon St., Watertown, MA 02472.
