Henry Thompson

Henry Thompson, 83, of Cataumet and Seminole, Florida, died September 12 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
Born in Tiverton, Rhode Island, he was the son of Henry and Elizabeth Hewitt Thompson.
Mr. Thompson was an Air Force veteran of World War II.
After beginning his career as a truck driver at Corcoran Supply in Brockton, he retired as the vice president of sales for the company.
He was a member of several Masonic fraternities, including the DeWitt Clinton Lodge, where he received his 50-year membership pin.
He loved boating and golf and enjoyed living in Florida.
A highlight of his week was going out to breakfast after Sunday church services.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Aldina (Oliveira) Thompson; a daughter, Nancy L. Simison of Sandwich; two grandsons, Justin J. Simison of Phoenix, Arizona, and Brendan N. Simison of Las Vegas, Nevada; a great-granddaughter, Ava Grace; a sister, Ellen St. Ours of Fall River; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home in Sandwich.
Private burial will be at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at a later date.
