Rebeckah DuBois Glazebrook

Rebeckah DuBois Glazebrook, 89, of Osprey, Florida, and Woods Hole died on November 16 in Massachusetts. 
She was the wife of the late James Robinson Glazebrook.
Ms. Glazebrook was born to Dr. Eugene Floyd DuBois and Rebeckah (Rutter) DuBois in New York City on January 16, 1919. Educated at Chapin and Milton Academy, she graduated from Vassar College in 1941. From 1943 to 1952, she worked as a research assistant at Cornell University Medical College in New York City.
After the death of her husband in 1958, she moved with her three children from New York City to Penzance Point, where she had summered as a child since 1930. In the 1960s, she also began to spend winters on Casey Key in Florida.
Ms. Glazebrook served on the MBL Associates Executive Board from 1983 to 1989, and also volunteered with the Woods Hole Historical Society. Earlier she had worked a research assistant for the late Dr. Albert Senft. She also supported many conservation and art organizations in both Florida and Massachusetts and was a longtime patron of the Metropolitan Opera House in New York City.
In Woods Hole, she was a member of the Church of the Messiah, and in Florida, St. Boniface Church on Siesta Key.
She is survived by her daughters, Rebeckah Glazebrook Aujaghian of Corona del Mar, California, and Harmony Glazebrook-Pittet of Dallas, Texas; five grandchildren, Catherine Wood Glazebrook, Rebeckah Jane Glazebrook, Robinson Austin Pittet, Caroline Solange Pittet, and Rebeckah DuBois Aujaghian; and a brother, Dr. Arthur Brooks DuBois of New Haven, Connecticut, and Woods Hole.
She was the mother of the late James Grinstead Glazebrook and the sister of the late Eugene DuBois.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 26, at 2 PM at the Church of the Messiah, 22 Church Street, Woods Hole.
In lieu of flowers, donations for scholarships may be made to the Eugene Floyd DuBois Memorial Fund, MBL, Woods Hole, MA 02543; or to the charity of one’s choice.
