BOURNE - By fighting all the way, the Bourne High boys’ lacrosse team earned a tight 10-9 victory over Bishop Connolly High School Tuesday. With the win the Canalmen improve to 5-10 overall and 2-5 in the Maritime League.

Higgins Ties 39-Year-Old BHS Track Record

BOURNE - Brandon Higgins tied a Bourne High School record from 1969, held by Larry Bryon, while finishing second in the 110 high hurdles with a personal best time of 18.7, and he had two third-place finishes: one in the triple jump (36-6.5) and in the 300 intermediate hurdles with a time of 47.7.

BOURNE - In a light southwest wind Tuesday, the new Bourne High School sailing club team faced their first competition in a best three out of five meet with Sandwich. The Canalmen won the five-race event, deciding to complete all five races after sweeping the first three.

FALMOUTH - For the past several weeks there was one game that the Falmouth High School girls’ lacrosse team was looking forward to more than any other, it’s rematch with Sandwich. Perhaps the Clippers cared a little too much about beating the Lady Knights, because something wasn’t working as they took on the team they had to beat in order to have a chance at winning the Atlantic Coast League title this year.

FALMOUTH - Bouncing back from a defeat the previous day, the Falmouth High School girls’ tennis team bested Sandwich High on the road, 4-1, on Wednesday afternoon. The victory improved the Clippers’ overall record to 7-2 on the season as the team moved to 6-1 in Atlantic Coast League play.
